Will Sun City sales explode?

    Hi Carole,
Can you address this issue more. How did you find this, and does it exist for a retirement community. That is the part I am concerned for. If the community is considered a retirement community, could it still qualify for funds for people who are truly at the poverty level and cannot afford to fix and update the house? Thanks, please expound on how you found this out.

I have looked into this on numerous occasions. It's money available to Arizona residents from grant money given to states by the government. The individual has to apply and provide personal information. Most of the money is for weatherization programs, new windows, attic insulation etc.

Not sure there is a solution. Have a friend who has been having issues for a few years. Lives around 107th and Alabama. There are 2 drug houses nearby that are frequented by MCSO. Never knows when someone will be using the yard as a toilet. Lives locked and loaded. I prefer Fry's over Safeway so I go up to Union Hills now. On my street we have a home where about 5 people come and go on a regular basis.....usually late. The fellow I help lives next door to them and he is mentioning them a lot. I have an extra security camera he can use till we figure out something more permanent for him.

Some time ago my dogs woke me up barking around 3am. I had a motion light on my front porch and could see someone walking back and forth. I now have 3 cameras and a ring doorbell.

The Nextdoor app has quite a few people concerned about our area. Many get crime alerts and I get them live on my phone if close to home. Other than protecting your home and your family there is nothing much that can be done.

Hi Josie, do you think having an actual Sheriff station residing in Phase 1 would help you? Thanks for sharing.

Unfortunately, this is happening everywhere and no phase or community is immune. Gates aren't a deterrent. There's no simple solution.

MCSO is aware and on it, but it's not easy. They can't just go in like gangbusters unless they have a solid case otherwise the courts let them out again to roam the streets the next day.

I never go to the Fry's on Grand. I go up to UH or SW on Olive, mostly Olive.

There's a lot I could add but I will spare you because it has been said. Similar to what you already posted, Josie.

Best bet is to keep your head on a swivel at Code Yellow out in public. Learn how to defend yourself.

There is no easy answer. This is going on everywhere and SC is still pretty safe, relatively speaking.

We have MCSO deputies stationed in YT near the Town Square at all times. This is right across 111th from Phase I in SC.
They are quick to respond and backup is never far away.

No clue. Would they even consider that? There is a station in Surprise already pretty close to us. It's just all over the country now, and when homeless are even in Martha's Vinyard it has to be bad. My cousin lived down the street from me years ago and he took me shooting at a range. I took the safety classes and lessons, we went to practice until he got sick. Best thing I ever did. I was shocked to find out how many of my neighbors were gun owners. That being said if not a gun consider a taser or at a minimum bear spray. The post of the drug bust I posted yesterday on Oakmont from Nextdoor by the neighbor has been going on for 3 years for him.

Some think it will just go away and take care of itself. I am not one of them for various reasons. Bottom line is no one will take care of you so take care of yourself.

Thanks, I didn't know that. A while back I was at the pet food store around 111th and Alabama. About 4 young men were sitting not really hidden but not in full view and the sheriff's car hauled butt into the lot. They ran and so did I into the pet shop. Awesome pet food store if you raw feed BTW.

I have never been in that pet store. I'll have to try it. Thanks.

They only carry OC Raw brand frozen dog food. They have some cute doggie and kitty bling. The supplements are amazing, most made by a pharmacist at her direction. The treats are all organic, all natural. No rawhide. Owner (can't remember her name) is amazing. She is on par with Chris at Peoria Pet Market.

Thanks for sharing, gals. Yes the crime is happening all over. You best be on the alert.

How about the condition of 64 year old structures. Do you think SCHOA could assist in having some folks apply for financial aid to help bring aging houses back to a better place? Thanks

How will they be able to force people to apply for aid much less force any government to pay for for it?

Are Sun City sales about to EXPLODE?

Received a call yesterday, did not recognize…
    did not answer.

Realtor left a message asking if I was thinking about selling my Sun City home. Went on a bit more closing with inviting me to call him back if interested.

It’s been a good while since being inundated with such calls!!

Wonder if marketing solicitations start showing up in mailboxes again next??

The solicitations have never stopped for my property. Every week since I don't remember when I have been receiving calls and cards/letters in the mail offering to buy my house. It used to be daily and now it's either weekly or 2x a week.
