Where did you get these numbers from? I spent time last month going over title 33 and found no such requirement. Maybe I missed it but could you point out the section that says this?
Cynthia, ARS Title 33 refers to 33-1802. Definitions In this chapter and in the community documents, unless the context otherwise requires: 1. "Association" means a nonprofit corporation or unincorporated association of owners that is created pursuant to a declaration to own and operate portions of a planned community and that has the power under the declaration to assess association members to pay the costs and expenses incurred in the performance of the association's obligations under the declaration. 2. "Community documents" means the declaration, bylaws, articles of incorporation, if any, and rules, if any." The Bylaws of SCW, as well as other planned communities have set their numbers as to what they want a quorum amount to be. It is not spelled out in Title 33, but Title 33 refers us to definitions of planned communities and to use community documents and definitions for additional limitations and exclusions.
Copy of the request read before the board this evening. Board members and esteemed management team, I am here to ask for board meetings and member exchange meetings be streamed live, as well as rebroadcast at timed intervals. I truly trust and believe there is a great need for this type of interaction within this community, as not everyone is available on Tuesday or Thursday mornings, once a month. I feel shut-ins, caretakers, and non-early risers would appreciated the opportunity to “participate” in the meetings, from the comfort of their home. I also feel this would be a great way to showcase the RCSC in action, availing themselves to the residents as well as those who are looking for an active adult community. Seeing the board in action should make the viewers note how local governing rules work to their advantage. Also, being able to see the local activity of the board and the management team may induce others to want to attend other functions such as the yearly meeting, Del Webb Days, and other great venues available to citizenry. It is the 21st century. We have smart phones that allows two-way instant communication. We have skype that allows for live conversation between individuals. Other communities, such as Sun City Grand have A/V facilities to support their communities, and they aren’t half as great as we are. In closing to make sure I do not use my allotted time up, please consider the greatness of being the first board to actually take and bring the 21st century to its card holders. I think it would be fantastic to have the candidate meetings also broadcast, making people feel involved in how the election for the board works. This management team has the ability to make this a reality, and this board has the chance to change the working history of how the RCSC interacts with its cardholders. I am grateful for your time; it is sincerely acknowledged and appreciated.
Carole did in fact read the statement to the board regarding recording and playing back board and member exchange meetings. It was as well received as a fart in church. Not a lot of enthusiasm would be an understatement. Seems to me asking candidates how they felt about recording meetings for playback would be a good question for the candidates forum. I was reading Sun Views and i didn't see any notice of recording the forums like they did last year...anyone know if they are doing it this year?
