Hi. I am a 64 yo single woman currently living in Peoria. I want to move to Sun City to make friends and do alot of fun things. I am looking at the apartments on Newcastle called The Place at The Fountains. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about that place? Appreciate any insights.*

The Place at the Fountains sits on the ground of the old Cactus league ballpark in Sun City. My only knowledge of them is back in the days we delivered meals on wheels and dropped off hot meals to residents who recently had surgery. They were quite nice and would think you would find them satisfactory. Just make sure you check with management and see how renting there works with becoming a privilege card holder.

I have been in a few just briefly and they seem nice. Gated community with assigned parking. I have not heard any complaints. The grounds and hallways seem well kept. The elevator in Building A is slow.

It is unclear what you will have to pay to get a RCSC privilege card to use all the facilities. Almost the only thing you won't be able to do is vote once you have the card. Over 55 residents in places such as the Fountains, Royal Oaks, Sun Wood etc. are eligible to purchase cards and there are some sort of agreements as to the amount the apartment complex owners pay towards the annual fee. This has always been a mystery to me. Many renters/occupants don't purchase cards because the extra cost they pay as non-cardholders for golf or bowling is so minimal.
