I have reached my limit on collecting Proxies for the Annual Membership Meeting - our once a year opportunity to be heard and possibly vote. It will be held on Tuesday, March 11th at Sundial Recreation Center. I firmly suggest that you get to the meeting by 5 pm as many people have expressed an interest in being there. You have to be in line by 6 pm in order to be counted. If you know you cannot attend the meeting but want to have your voice heard while helping fellow Members reach the 500 quorum, please email me at jean.tottenonenote@gmail.com I can put you in touch with others who are collecting Proxies who are Members in Good Standing and will carry your Card # for Quorum and vote for you if necessary. The following information is what I can find about proxies on the RCSC website: Looking at the RCSC website on your screen, click and hold your mouse on the RCSC "tab." Scroll down until you come to "Forms." You will see Proxy Voting – Proxy Procedure | General Proxy Form - these are .pdf files The Proxy procedure page details the Qualification necessary to ask for a proxy at the Corporate Office or download to your home computer. It also details the steps necessary to return the form to the Corporate Office by the posted date (March 5). Proxies signers can only appoint his or her proxy to a single proxy taker The General Proxy Form must be filled out by anyone who cannot attend the Annual Membership Meeting but wants their presence counted in order to reach the Quorum of 500. Only one form per Card holder (Homeowner). This form needs to be given to a circulator of the Proxies (someone who has agreed to sign the Procedure page and collect Proxies. Each Member in good standing is allowed to carry 25 Proxies. Jean Totten
So just to be clear, a single deeded household who pays $650 to live here gets one vote, while a dual deeded household who pays $650 to live here gets 2 votes. I need to double check these things now that the famed psychiatrist on TOSC said I have a mental disorder. I guess a smart person would hit up all married friends. That would result in half the effort and once again single homeowners don't matter as much. ***Off Topic*** I finally had a chance to read the past two SC independents last evening. Interesting.
