Are you talking about the land across from the Sun City Posse?

If so, development was put on hold when it became apparent that
emergency vehicles would have to go through Sunland Cemetery
or several residential areas.

 

There's more to it than that Peg. The original buyers were ready to develop it when the bottom fell out of the housing market. They first plans called for 240 homes though there were several issues with that many homes crammed into that space. An agreement was reached to cut it down to about 140 homes, all one level.

When the market tanked the original buyers filed bankruptcy with claims of purchase and cost for improvements in excess of 15 million dollars. New buyers picked it up at a great price but with home prices tight, development never happened. The property has changed hands at least two more times and still we see nothing.

That said, I expect as prices climb, we'll see the property developed.
