Who doesn't like to save money? The following bargain stores are in or near Sun City, Arizona. 99cent store (typewriters had a sign for cent), Dollar Store, Dollar General, and Family Dollar. I shop at all of the above. Then there are Frys, Safeway, and Albertsons all within 2-3 miles. I also shop all of them. There are also many shopping centers and malls.
I just discovered Beals discount clothing store and they have some great clothes for little $$. The Steinmart on Bell/Grand is worth shopping at as well. Sprouts has great produce as well as good prices. You are so right pegmih, we have some awesome shopping choices within a few miles.
I look at the weekly ads and then shop at Frys, Safeway, Bashas, or Albertsons. Each store is unique in what it offers. I particularly like the thick Safeway bacon! Vegetables & meat can often be good buys at Sprouts. The 99cent store has fresh vegetables and other grocery items.
Estate Sales The best money saver in town is Estate Sales...Sun City and Sun City West has a ton of them. They are usually held on Thursday and Friday mornings, a few will start on Wednesday but most close down by noon or one pm so get out there early. Then by Saturday and Sunday most sell what is left at half price. Estate sales are not just for furniture, if you are on a budget, cleaning supplies, blankets, linens, perfume, lotions and OTC medications can all be found for pennies on the dollar. They are easily located on Craigs List or the Sun City local newspapers you can also do a search on the internet for "Sun City AZ Estate Sales" and there are numerous websites that list sales, usually you can do a search by your zipcode on those sites and find what is close to you. With the return of the snowbirds, parking and traffic get harder to deal with, but not as bad as say....CA traffic. The stores are busy but not so much that you have to deal with huge crowds and long long lines.
ANY COSTCO FANS? I know it's a lot of food but if you like steaks...nothing better and best price... I love their wines which in Florida your allowed to get at Costco.. can you get wine at the Sun City Arizona location? Great savings and quality....
