Fellow members I have given so much to Sun City it pains me to say we may be stuck in a vicious cycle of failed attempts to direct the result (money) to our individual leaders liking. Many have said to me it does not matter what I think they will do whatever they want to do. I hope that is not true. It is so depressing to think it is true.
One of the few things I enjoyed about being on the board for the short time I was there was tapping into member's "creative juices". The talent in this community is amazing. I hope someday somebody will say about me that he/she brought out the best in me. That is the greatest compliment anyone could ever receive.
I do some work with "disadvantaged" children, and I can tell you they are screaming for a chance to be heard and understood. Even though we are all in the sunset of our lives, we too want to be heard.
I leave you with this. One of my mentors was 98 years old when I met him. He did not believe in hearing aids so he carried a "horn" that you would speak into. One day I was eating lunch in the company cafeteria, and he just sat down next to me. He said John, the greatest gift anyone ever gave me was the ability to truly listen to people. How this former fortune 100 company founder knew my name I will never know. I simply said, thank you.

I hope the MV renovation brings out the best in all of you.

    John,
Option 6 was a little over the top for me. Using the flat space for pickleball was a bit much to envision.
On the other hand, flat floor with the ability to use retractable seats, perhaps with an elevated stage.
The data provided was eye opening and makes clear the need to be prudent in decision making when it comes to the PAC.
My concern is that even when the board chooses which one to adopt, we are still 1year away from designs being ready for bid. During the presentation, it was mentioned that it will take from the point of decision to the completed schematics is one year. So, one year to draw blueprints, then another year to do the work, how much more is this going to cost?
