OK, I'm a long time user of Talk of The Villages. We have just decided that we will be moving to Sun City Texas, instead of Florida. I found this forum, which is run by the same admin as the Villages site. The other site is very useful. I'd like to think this site would get going and be as useful. So, if anyone checks this, say hi. Dave

Talk of Sun City just launched so anything you can do to help get the word out is greatly appreciated as we want this to be the new online community for the Sun City residents much like TOTV is for The Villages. Not actually there yet, just had our first visit, but we are actually going to buy there, but we have a year left before my wife can retire. I hope this site goes, because I do enjoy TOTV. However, there really doesn't seem to be anyone here. I'll check back periodically.
Dave, I have been on and off the site too at the beginnning a couple months ago but more recently it looks like it's picking up... I checked out TOTV and it looks great but we must make TOSC the same!! It only takes each one of us to contribute... one at a time. I am moving to Arizona this year probably.. Never been to Sun City Georgetown but have been to Austin..... sounds good though from what I read!! Be the "Texas Sun City Connection" for the site.. spread the word out there.. Hey Dave, Lappy here!!! Good to see you on the site. We actually have a residence in the Southlake area of Texas (south of Dallas) and one in Florida as well. We are like nomads since my parents are still alive and kickin' in New Jersey as well. We bounce around alot. Spent some time in the Austin Area which is very close to Sun City in Georgetown. You will have to go to Horse Shoe Bay while you are down there. Great resort area. A bit more pricey than the Sun City Areas but nice restaurants etc near the lake. Also, check out the BBQ places in the Austin area while you are down there. Let us know when you move down there!!! Happy travels, Lappy
Hi Dave, Darla here. You will absolutely love the Sun City Area in Texas. Being close to Austin gives you the best of both worlds. Georgetown is a nice part of the Austin community. Welcome and stay in touch through this handy site!

I love totv also but this site has been picking up lately. Let's keep building it. I always get the best info from the residents. I go on every day now !!
I know Darla Joe is from Oklahoma and they have great BBQ up there. Once went to a place between Sallisaw and Poteau called the Wild Horse BBQ in the middle of nowhere!!! The best I ever had. It was started by an old timer named Hubert!!!! He lived in a little trailer on that little 2 lane road and smoked ribs and brisket all day long. The military would fly Choppers in to take BBQ back to Fort Chafee... I think his son runs the place now. It's been many years! This is probably a post for another thread, but what the heck, I feel like talking or maybe typing!~!
