I would agree with that statement in most cases, however, our Articles of Incorporation allows the Board to amend everything, except the Articles, on their own without Member approval.

Perhaps that's why we see so many changes to BP's and bylaws?

  3. Janet, don’t have a heart attack but I agree with you. While it was what I call informal in the past, I always look many years down the road to see how it could be abused and I believe it could. Now it could be in Board policy which is easy to amend, but I prefer a by law which makes it more difficult. Being who I am, I will see what I can do.

    More shenanigans?

Found out today that when our Club treasurer goes to pick up our mail somebody in the RCSC is opening up our Club bank statements. This has happened several times and only to our bank statements?

These statements are specifically addressed to the Club and not the RCSC?

    Hmmm? Federal offense?

Either Bylaws or Board policy would be good.

P.S. Thankfully my heart is good! We probably agree on more things than either of us would admit, Geoffrey.

Yes while purposely opening someone else's mail is a no-no I don't think the employees have any training in proper mail handling.

Jeb, For the other knights they must weigh the price of challenging the power structure whether they aspire to be president or not.

Never fails to surprise me at what people are surprised by, especially with RCSC. Ignorance is no excuse. I wonder what the person who is opening that mail would do if someone opened his/her home mail? If a person who has been on this earth long enough to qualify to live in Sun City doesn’t understand that opening someone else’s mail is wrong and a crime, that person needs some serious help and should not be working/volunteering for any corporation. **Right or wrong this is a personal opinion**

And we will be filing an incident report and asking for an explanation.

We have nothing to hide and would willing show our bank statements if asked, but opening our mail is wrong!

Ah the incident report. The weapon of choice by the General and their army. Confidential except to the King, the General and a few captains. In their incident review chamber they can dole out justice in secret. Or label the filer a malcontent. No one should ever be the wiser...

I suspect that the incident report will get about as much attention as the work order request I submitted last year! The fix would take about 5 minutes and the cost is nothing!

  15. John, if you want another historical perspective, try Star Chamber for giggles and snort.

I see HH googling it now.

It is absolutely frightening to me that I must live in your head 24/7. Now I have a better understand how Trump must feel. At least he has Secret Service protection from the freaks and misfits.

  17. You really can’t take joke can you? You must live a life of quiet desparation.

Oh I can take a joke. You are just not funny. And I have had enough of your asinine BS comments about me. They are old, tired and boring. Some can be considered borderline harassment and threatening, but we have already gone through that and yes all are saved. You scare the crap out of me.

I'm getting lost in the analogy. And I freely admit my ignorance as to many details w/ regard to Board meetings, so I'll ask bluntly: John, Did you propose a change to the wording of that bylaw when you were on the Board? And if so, please tell me which meeting - I would love to see how that played out.

  20. HH, you have problems but do your worst and I have saved yours. Touché.

You obviously in your educational journey have not read The Hollow Men by ee cummings. Set in post Great War England in the 1920’s. I read it in high school.
