I have stayed away from TOSC as of late. I was told by a friend that you have used my name in a thread. I just read the thread and I am here to question it and defend my name.

I have no idea what you are stating about me.

Yes, when Karen McAdam was "fired" from her board position, I, along with KS, started the Sun City Advocates. We periodically send out an Email Blast from Mail Chimp with information about RCSC, the board, etc. that often directs you to our Blog. The blog goes into more detail. We also have a FB site. I successfully ran for the board in 2022 and resigned recently.

Could you please explain to me and the readers of TOSC why my name was mentioned in this thread? (see excerpt below) Thank you.

Not a comment but a question .
If a deeded owner of Sun City has a reverse mortgage and the deeded owner passes, the reverse mortgage holder becomes the deeded owner of the home. Does the reverse mortgage holder pay PIF, CIF, and a ?IF?

The financial institution holding the reverse mortgage would have to go to court and foreclose on the property. They would have secure documents where any and all heirs ( if applicable) sign away their rights to the property. Once the court enters an order awarding the financial institution they now become the deeded owner in which they would have to pay PIF, CIF, transfer fee and rec fees. They would then put the property for sale and new owner would be responsible for the aforementioned fees at closing.

Christine alias Dave W.: Are you absolutely, positive that your answer is correct? We don't want to give out false information. We emailed the Nixon's at their real estate office to see if they had any experience with this type of situation. If we don't hear from them, we will reach out to the Corporate Office.
Any questions about PIF, CIF, etc. and selling of your home deserves the right answer the first time!

I'm only trying to set the record straight where you get your information from and defend my name from you. I'm not posting on this topic again because I know that you will want to have the last word.

let's try this, really simple.

1. i posted christine/dave statement on tosc from sun city advocates (sca) and stated i did not believe he was a good advocate for sun city. read his post. i stated i know christine and dave were one in the same because you (jean) mentioned it on the previous SCA blog (which i pasted here too).
2. you came back at me and said a friend told you i was using your name several times on tosc, so i told you why and posted your response to christine/dave from sca
3. i then did a search here (tosc) (shown above, 9 posts) where happy hippie used your name. once today, and the 2nd was on a thread regarding going off topic. the other 7 were responses to things you posted, so i am not repeatedly using your name to disparage you.
4. i am so sorry you can't understand the gist of this post. it became a big deal over nothing. if your 'friend' happened to be sitting towards the front of the room during the meeting please tell her to keep they eye rolls to a minimum. the camera was on her constantly.
5. all this because 1 person's hate trickled down. maybe christine/dave is correct in saying "you must know that a good percentage of our population is obtuse at best and wouldn’t 7nderstand non-profits if Big Bird came down and explained it." direct quote from sun city advocates christine/dave whoever.
6. GOD PRAY FOR SUN CITY

 

I think the apparent positive shift in focus of the Sun City Advocates is positive. Nonetheless, I was disheartened to see so many opinions on things that would not matter if we learned to work together. I really liked Janet's kind suggestions and reflections which I would summarize as we aren't getting any younger so " Come on, people now, Smile on your brother, Everybody get together, Try to love one another right now". That is my platitude of gratitude even though I now disagree that a theater would be worth the money. (BTW it is nice to see so many unlicensed lawyers arguing about what the law means.)

 

In my opinion the Sun City Advocates conversations have gone downhill fast. I applaud the concept but see it as becoming a speaker's corner where the regulars (with some exceptions) stand on a soapbox and preach. No solutions, just blame or adulation. Hooray for our side and we must defeat the other side. I realize that this post is itself a criticism so I want to offer a solution knowing the administrators of that blog would never tolerate it. Pick specific subject matters to address and request the regulars to stick to the subject matter. Ask that they keep their comments clear, concise and data based so as to avoid all the rambling. Do your best to take ego out of the equation. Well, I tried...
