Here's one for the 6 board members who voted to support Carole rather than uphold the organizations documents that have been in place for more than 50 years...can anyone say "breach of fiduciary responsibilities?" Eve of Destruction, Barry McGuire.

And just before i rest my weary old bones, this one goes out to the three board members that voted to try and do the right thing for this community. From Louis Armstrong What a Wonderful World.

Hopefully you will help those new board members understand that SCHOA never has been and never should become the Sun City Chamber of Commerce where the GM can run around glad-handling businesses and holding cute little seminars no one attends. SCHOA's job first and foremost is compliance...to be there for the community and the members. Pretty simple really.

I will spare you the details of the letter from SCHOA we got yesterday. Here's the meat of the subject: Following this review and listening carefully to the discussions that were held with you and your wife, as well as Max Christensen, the board made the determination that TruBuilders would not be removed from from SCHOA's Business Partner Program.

We first bought our home in Sun City in 1999. Since that time, we have worked hard to make Sun City a better place to live, promote the community and share our experiences with anyone and everyone we could.

I never thought it would happen, but in the space of a short 8 week period 6 board members and 1 general manager have changed all of that.

Job well done Carole, i hope protecting a contractor who screwed us out of $5000, changed the contract and left us in an absolute mess was worth it to SCHOA's long term future.

To all my friends on TOSC, i wish you well. It's been a fun ride, did the best i could to try and give the site some stability and useful information.

11-14-17...the day the music died eh?

I suspect it is because of who Bill Pearson is, the ruling came down the way it did. Bill has always been a vocal proponent of the self governing as well as the marvels and wonders of this community. He has taken to task, several organizations who have demonstrated to him, less than reputable direction or distinction for the benefit of the Sun City residents. I feel there was an egregious error made, and there is no feasible way for SCHOA to save face over this one. The residents of Sun City should be the focus, as well as their the community and its needs. Contractors can come and go, SCHOA needs to be here for the right reasons, which is the community.

From someone that has not bought in Sun City yet, but will in the near future... it is this kind of thing that is discouraging and makes me wonder if the Sun City I have checked out is going to be the Sun City of the past. If potential buyers learn of this kind of behavior they might just decide to choose Sun City West, etc..
I still plan on Sun City for us, but knowing this little bit of history will make me very wary of ANY vendor on the SCHOA list.
The board's decision is disturbing to say the least. IMHO, shame on them!

Bruce: You have captured my feelings on so many levels. To allow this vendor to remain on the list or not at least allow for member commentary and experiences is shameful.*

Agreed, allowing client experience comments, good or bad, and allow the vendor to respond would be a valuable feature. We often see on Yelp where a customer complains and the vendor responds, to me that can be a positive thing. At least you see that the vendor is being responsive.

I don’t understand why BP would stop posting because of this incident. Most of us on TOSC supported him. They are not in charge of the forum. Is it because he thinks they read the forum or did I miss something?
