Hi I Am Bud... Me & My wife Sue moved to Sun City Original in 2005. I moved to Arizona in 1970 I went to work in Sun City as a bricklayer. worked here until 1972. then I became a Ceramic Tile Contractor for 32 years here in Arizona. I belong to several clubs here .

 

Welcome to Talk of Sun City! How do you like Sun City Original? Can you tell your clubs about this site - there is a section dedicated for clubs and they can use it as a way to post notices and communicate.

 

Hi Bud. Welcome to the site. You said you belonged to many clubs. Any chance one of them is the Mens Sundial Club? I just read in USA Today that they won a national award for their participation in "Make a Difference Day". They held one of the largest food drives ever in a retirement community. Very impressive ! I hear there are some great Sun City clubs. What clubs do you like the most ?

This is my first attempt to post. I moved to Sun City in 2007 from California/Washington State.

 

I arrived in Arizona on Cinco de Mayo and celebrate that day every year.

 

This year on Cinco de Mayo - next Sunday, May 5, I am having company for a taco salad

 

I am also going to make a Margarita cake. It sound good and is easy. Goggle it for recipe.

 

What a great way to arrive in SUN CITY on CINCO DE MAYO!!!

Also, if you don't mind when you get a chance... How do you make a margarita cake? Will you post that recipe in the section on the home page called "The Sun City Kitchen" and post all in one thread the recipe? This would be a great addition to that thread... I would love to see a picture of it if you have one(or take one) Thanks so much!! I will be drinking a corona on May 5th!!!

Good Evening CooperLady, my name is Bobbie and I just recently signed up, my husband and I have lived in Phase 1 of Sun City AZ for about 15 years. I'm only writing to bring to your attention, that the title "New Members - the word Intorduce is spelled incorrect - surprised that spell check did not catch this - but in the body of the message in caps it is spelled correctly. I don't mean to knitpic (not sure on that spelling), but I was an administrative assistant for 25 years. sorry - someone needs to proof read -

mrsbscrafts - I believe copperlady didn't start this thread but "admin"... Copperlady I read in other threads is a former english teacher and I am sure would laugh at this since she is just like you on the misspelling!! GOOD CATCH!! I am sending email to admin to correct...

 

Bmac is so right. Just like you, I hate misspellings. ;-)

 

My wife and I are planning to move to Sun City West once I retire in a little less than 2 years. Anyone have suggestions for things we should know or prepare for? Thanks in advance for any responses. Jim

 

Jim58!! Welcome to the site! I am moving to Sun City next year as well and you will find posts on this site that are very helpful to everything you can imagine... Feel free to start some new threads on specific questions as the good folks on here are very helpful.. I am sure some people will chime in on their experiences of Sun City.. Have fun and POST POST POST away!! Don't be SHY!! That's what the people of Sun City is all about..
