I finally got my golfing picture in the Sun City wikipedia article. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_City,_Arizona#Gallery) - Someone needs to be working on the Sun City museum section of the article. Do I need to name names?
Am glad you had a caption explaining it was indeed golf and not Swing at the Geese, some new and dreadful sport!
You know that anyone can edit on wikipedia? I'd be more than happy to provide technical and moral support.
Hey Carp, once the US Lawn Bowls Tournament is done (350 players and 12 countries) and the museum has its grand opening for the new addition we can work on it. I will need a tutorial, way beyond my pay grade. Just been kind of crazy of late.
That's good, but a couple of pointers. You have given no reference. What makes you think this is true? Secondly, your name suggests that you might have a biased perspective on the subject, perhaps even a conflict of interest. But about that reference . . . ..........
I need to check into the LB tourney. Could be a good picture there. I'm probably your best tutorial - been editing since 2004 - so figure out when you are ready and we'll have a go at it.
I just added this to the wikipedia article. "The city’s four lawn bowling locations are among the sites for the 2019 US Lawn Bowling Open’s South Central Division, held from November 3 through November 9." What is a lawn bowling "location" called? Court? Field? Or is location okay?
They are called greens and we are playing at 7 different venues (greens) 5 in Sun City (2 greens at Bell and Lakeview, 1 each at Fairway, Oakmont and Mountainview), a 4 green complex in Sun City West and a single green in Sun City Grand. Opening ceremonies are Sunday morning at Lakeview with play spread around the various greens all through the week. We start with pairs (Sunday, Mon and Tues) Singles on Weds and Thursday and 4's Friday and Saturday for the men. The women's division has a different schedule of play. The Museum is holding it's grand opening of the new addition for the public on November 2 and 3. The house is now pink which is pretty stunning and the original color from 1960. Way better than the old picture on Wiki.
