Another interesting meeting last night and if you missed it, you can watch it on line at...my bad, of course we don't record and playback those kinds of meetings. If you forgot or couldn't make it, it's no ones fault but your own (being facetious here eh?). Of course we should be shooting video and making them available to the community. There was a good crowd, lots of softball players who were lobbying for a new scoreboard and clubhouse building. As a footnote, those kinds of requests should be submitted by the club yearly as they vie for upgrades to existing space. Unfortunately that may not have been done this year which in all likelihood means they are shoot out of luck. Unfortunately that wasn't the only complaint. Seems many of the golfers aren't happy either. Take you pick from home owners waking up to "desert landscaping" to the condition and play of courses to the question: "is it true all of our courses will be closed for 5 days to over seed?" That one caught my attention, in that it may well be a first in our 56 year history. Scary thing is, it sounded like it's true. What makes this golf thing so frustrating is the board/staff made an enormous commitment to golf (approaching 40 million dollars by the time they are done), and the net to date is an angry golf community. How's that working out for you guys? Perhaps now i better understand why they don't want the community to see these meetings...it may well serve to inflame those of us living here even more.
The board member that asked them to stand is a softball player. Far better to have told the pres to be sure to add their wants to the clubs yearly request form eh?
