We are interested in exploring Tuscan Village/Lakeway. I noticed it is also a Pulte, age restricted develpment. So, what is the difference between this community and Sun City, Texas? Just thinking.....

I actually was looking in the area and from what I know... there is no relation at all between these 2 communities.. Tuscan Village/Lakeway is about 15 miles away from Sun City Georgetown. Here is a map for you to see:

This development is totally separate. All the Sun Cities usually have great clubs, activities, organized retirement communities.... Can't speak for anything outside of Sun City... Hope this helps..

    Cricket,
In regards to your question about difference. I certainly don't have all the answers but can tell you this... Sun City - Georgetown is close to Austin, Texas. Austin is a very happening part of the country and I have been there many times! Keep in mind Austin is the capital of Texas and the Univ. of Tx is there and the enrollment is about 50,000 so you have a lot of young people etc.
Although Sun City Georgetown is a retirement area, you have a large city down the road with lots of traffic etc. I mean, lots of traffic! The flip-side is if you like and want to go to college type places and have a feel for Big Game Day Football Saturdays. Austin is great for young singles for sure. I have not been to Sun City Georgetown so I can't speak to it.
Our villa in Florida is a Pulte Property and we are very pleased with the construction and soundness of this villa. We have owned it for 9 years.
Oh, we do have a property in Texas as well, hence my knowledge of the Georgetown Area.
    Hope this helps some.

Thanks to both of you for posting your responses. We are familiar with the area, as we have a daughter in Round Rock. She previously lived in Austin, so I know about the traffic...ugh. Still in the stage where we are just considering all our options.

I have friends who live in Austin and they really love it. It seems that Austin is really unique unto itself from all the areas of TX. I think it will come down to the amenities and models and personal preference/needs. We are biased toward Sun City.
