I sure hope all the candidates show up. Last year's was a disappointment with no-show candidates. There are important issues to be decided by the commissioners in the coming year. We need to hear how informed they are on the issues that will impact Sun City.

So what the heck happened to Rick Gray? Geez, don't tell me he was wiped out by all the dark money candidates before he even had a chance.

Talking about two years ago, two of the candidates who didn't show figured they had no worries. They had taken a boatload of money from outside the state and from PAC's who bought their vote and could care less about a bunch of old farts in Sun City.

Shameful to say the least, but clearly politics in this new era of getting from our politicians "the best money can buy."

I think three things may have hurt Rick's chances. Lack of name recognition outside of Sun City, I don't think he was in favor of disclosing campaign amounts/contributors and he doesn't think global warming is a real issue. These are just items I caught on the PBS ACC debate just before the election.

I thought I'd better bump this back to the top since it's tonight. To keep things relative to Sun City's water district issue they will be checking RCSC Cards or Driver's Licenses at the door. Some forums have been overrun by the residents that would benefit by the increase in our wastewater rates.

The mandatory APS Demand Charge should also be addressed by the candidates. The 90 minutes will go by quickly and I hope we get some non stock politician replies.
