Is it a requirement to wear shoes in the pools and hottubs at the rec centers? My husband thought he saw a sign at the Bell center but I never saw it. Thanks.

There is a rule about shoes, but it just describes what shoes can be used in pools/spas. It states:

Aqua shoes, or shoes compatible with walking in water, are the only footwear approved for use in RCSC pools. Such shoes are to be worn only in the pool/spa areas and should not be worn as street shoes or worn outside the pool and spa area.

You are not supposed to wear your pool shoes from the pool to the dressing room. This is because water makes the floor slippery. Unfortunately, most people do not follow this rule.

Do most people wear pool shoes? When I was in the Bell walking pool last week, there was only few other people there and I didn't look.

You wear pool shoes to protect the bottom of your foot. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't.
