Sun City Arizona was not only the first of the 55+ active adult communities in Arizona, but also the first in the country. Del Webb started Sun City Arizona in 1960 and it now has over 26,000 homes, 11 golf courses and countless amenities and social clubs. It is renowned for its incredible home values, low property taxes and minimal association fees. On New Year’s Day 1960 Del Webb’s Sun City Arizona opened their doors to the public. Years of anticipation led to an astonishing 100,000 visitors who toured the property in the first weekend. Del Webb went on to sell 400 homes in the first month and 2,000 in the first year making Sun City one of the most popular active adult communities in Arizona. Between 1960 and 1978, Del Webb continued to build a community that catered to the retirement dreams of thousands of Americans. Sun City Arizona is now home to over 44,000 full and part-time residents. Del Webb pioneered the active adult concept with the notion that residents should be able to live in an entirely self-contained community with access to nearly every imaginable amenity. Residents of Sun City enjoy the community’s interconnectedness with the surrounding attractions. Just a quick update on the RCSC assessment fees: They are now at $450 per year lot assessment (the price listed above was $420 and was from a couple three years ago). Great list of numbers for orgs, agencies and what have you. The property taxes may be a touch higher than the numbers shown as well, but if they are off, its not by much. All in all it's tougher to find a better value with as many amenities at such an affordable cost.
Good afternoon. I just want to say that after my first contact with you many months ago, I have arrived in SunCity West! The rocketing real estate market has allowed me to escape from Maryvale. Not sure where I will eventually end up out here but after 30 years in Phoenix I'm feeling blessed.
