It's an oddity in Sun City; getting along has always been a challenge. My wife used to say it's hard for us all to play in the same sandbox. Most of the time it just runs off each others back, in rare instances it escalates to what your are seeing today. The good news is when there are problems we often see those impacted move on to a similar club at a different center.

Anyone interested in helping clubs solve internal problems should give thought to joining the COC committee for the RCSC.

As BPearson has stated getting along in clubs is a challenge but that is not the BIG issue. The BIG ISSUE is "how" the grievances are handled by the club officers and /or the Clubs Organization Committee (COC) and/ or RCSC employees. That is the essence of what we are hearing of late. There has been basically no "due process" or a very flawed system used which is stacked against any club member that has been accused of any type of wrong doing. There have been severe cases of the "accused" not being allowed to testify, not being allowed to submit witnesses and evidence, not being allowed to see the complaint nor who filed the complaint. There have been additional cases where the accused has been denied a simple hearing and then suspended for a number of months. All members that have been accused of a wrong doing after having been found "guilty" have the right of APPEAL to the RCSC Board of Directors. Part of the problem & concern is that the APPEALS never make it to the Board of Directors. If the Board does not get the APPEALS they do not know there is a problem. These types of problems have existed for a long time and a lot of the "wronged " members are finally taking the action necessary to force change to occur. The recent motions presented and voted on regarding changes to BP12 & 29 are a reflection of the complaints filed against the flawed system. More changes are still needed because the motions did not go far enough. I'm sure you will see more action on this soon.
