We are looking to update our kitchen with new granite countertops and tile flooring. (The pink and whitewash cupboards are dated) Can you recommend a business in SCW or surrounding area that does a good job and is reliable.

Check out your Sun City West HOA -- (Sun City is SCHOA)... They will give you a list of contractors for whatever you need done ! They check out the Licensed-Bonded company.. --and usually might have referrals, also.
It is a good tool to use when so many not-so-trusty contractors are running around.

Whatever you do -- make certain you get a Licensed-Bonded Company - - or else ----the mess could just be in your lap - -and you get taken ! -( if ya know what I mean)

I agree with Anita....we hired a bunch to redo our former house with granite and they destroyed my kitchen, broke my pendant lights and laughed about it. The company had provided a template because we wanted to use our faucet. They showed up with a sink that did not work so we had to run out and get a faucet to fit. We were tired of being stared down by angry looking workers so we hid in the bedroom for over 8 hours. Wont tell you what they did to the front bathroom....sigh. This business went under after the boom.

Let me be blunt: Be very careful about who you hire. We've spent a fortune on remodeling and some has been awesome, and some absolute crap. Anita Mae is right, start with SCHOA or PORA, but then see if you can get names of residents who can give you their endorsement. We've played the game and looked only to price, frankly a mistake. Nope, not saying you should throw money away, but be at least cautious enough not to just take someone because they are the low bid.

We're in the process of a major kitchen remodel, when it gets done, maybe i can post pictures.
